Hoplocampa brevis K. (tenthredinidae; Hymenoptera) is an important economic insect pest on pear trees in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine. Adults of H. brevis K. were weekly collected for three seasons 2021, 2022 and 2023. Early adult appearance was recorded in the first month of April, and maximum adult appearance was recorded in the middle of April then the density of adults gradually decreased until it reached zero at the end of May. Field foliar spray was carried out to test the efficacy of Acetamiprid 25% and Deltamethrin 100g/l, in addition to the untreated control. Acetamiprid and Deltamethrin sprays were effective on adults one and two weeks after spraying. Acetamiprid treatment was the best on adults with significant difference after the third week of spraying in 2021, whereas. no significant differences were recorded between both insecticides in subsequent years. Determining the maximum appearance period of Hoplocampa brevis and controlling it with specialized pesticides, significantly reduced the number of sprays used as well as the pest population.
