The present paper deals with Iraqi aphids belonging to the family Aphididae based on the survey of literature and present faunistic survey in different agroecosystems in the southern provinces of the country during the years 2023 and 2024. So far, 113 species of aphids belonging to 49 genera and 8 subfamilies of the Family Aphididae have been reported from Iraq. Identification of 10 taxa is still remained at the genus level, mainly due to inaccessibility to the voucher species. This study added a new record to the fauna of Iraq. Also, new provincial distributions are given for 11 aphid species. In the present list, the genera Aphis with 26 species and Chaitophorus with 8 species are the most species-rich genera with a wide distribution. Myzus persicae (Sulzer) and Aphis gossypii Glover were recorded from 32 and 29 host plant species, respectively. 50 aphid species were recorded either from one host plant or from one location. Host plants, distributional data in Iraq, and references for each species were provided.
