The pear tiger insect (Stephanitis pyri F.1775) was recorded in the Kafroun area of Tartous Governorate in Syria on the Crataegus monogyna Jacq , which is of vital environmental importance for the ecological balance, as it is a source of food for many birds and also has medical and nutritional importance, after examining insect samples from the infected plants and diagnosing them in the laboratory.
